About our school
Yahl Primary School was opened in 1868 and in 2018 celebrated its 150 year anniversary.
Our school is centrally located in the picturesque, rural township of Yahl (population approx. 850) which is located 10kms south-east of Mount Gambier.
We are committed to providing a high quality education for all students from Reception to Year 6, through high quality teaching and learning practices, a comprehensive curriculum and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Our school has a strong focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Music.
Our school grounds are well-maintained with large open play spaces, an Indigenous garden, Nature Play area, chicken coop, vegetable garden and orchard. The school also has access to a community cricket oval and hall.
We have modern classroom facilities that provide an excellent learning environment for our students. All classrooms are equipped with computers or iPads and up-to-date interactive whiteboards.
We believe that Yahl Primary School offers a unique, intimate learning environment where children are nurtured and given every opportunity to flourish.
